Zoe Lofgren: the speaker pro tempore: the gentleman is recognized. mr. lungren: mr. speaker, i rise today in support of h.r. 1299, known as the united states capitol police technical corrections act. i am pleased to join chairman brady in sponsoring this bill. it will create a stronger operational framework for the police, allowing them to better accomplish their mission, by provided much-need clarity and eliminating unnecessary or conflicting existing laws.

Zoe Lofgren: it provides the chief of capitol police with the appropriate authority and responsibility related to his role as head of the agency. this bill also clarifies important reporting and
